Pahto belongs to my people. Pahto is a witness to our treaty with Governor Stevens. White Eagle always points upward to the Great Maker, who heard promises of the treaty. That is why I do not like to see white people climb Pahto. Young Indians used to go to the top, but they made no wrong there.
